Making Repeat Bars This is a bit fiddly, but you need to do this. I'm assuming that the pattern goes from bars 1-4 and that it is repeated three times in bars 5-16. Write the initial pattern in bars 1-4. Select bars 5-16. Press Backspace to make sure that each bar only contains a bar rest. Leave the bars selected. Press Ctrl+Windows+Tab until you reach the properties window. Press Ctrl+Tab until the bars button is selected. Press Space to open the bars panel. Tab to the combo box. (The other controls will be greyed out so this is the only available control.) Use the arrow keys to select the second option (2 of 4). This turns the bar rest into a repeat bar ("simile") symbol. Press Alt+Tab to return to the score. The combo box in the bars panel changes the type of bar rest that is drawn. The options are: 1. None. 2. Repeat bar. 3. Normal bar rest. 4. Double whole note bar rest (also the old fashioned bar rest) which fills the space between the third and fourth lines on the staff. Unfortunately, there is no quick way at the moment to check what type of bar rest is being used while you navigate, but you can always go back to the properties window and check that what's being used. To make it clear that you want all four bars to be repeated, you could add some text above the first bar with a repeat sign in it. I'd suggest using technique text and writing something like "(Repeat 1-4)". I would recommend against using the repeat bar symbols in the symbols dialog. These do not position themselves correctly. Also, many drummers do not like seeing the 2 or 4 bar repeat signs, they can be confusing.
