Typing notes in text Posted: 17 Mar 2011 02:54 PM PDT Sometimes you might need to show note symbols in the middle of a run of regular text. Sibelius makes this as easy as pie. Simply right-click during input of most kinds of text (e.g. Technique text, Plain text, etc.) to see the useful word menu, which contains a number of common musical symbols. Click on the symbol you want to add to your text object, and in it goes. Notice that most of the symbols also have a keyboard shortcut, and they’re generally easy to remember because they match the position on the Keypad window: for example, a quarter note (crotchet) is Ctrl+4 (Windows) or Command-4. The symbols come from a font called Opus Text, which is designed to be interspersed with text. You can even use this font in other applications, like Microsoft Word, should you need to put simple musical symbols in your documents.
