The essential keystrokes for playback are as follows: SpaceBar = start or stop playback. Ctrl+Space = repeat the last playback. P = Play from selection. Y = move playback line to selection (doesn't start playback). Ctrl+Y = Select note closest to playback line. Shift+Y = Move view to playback line (doesn't affect selection). Ctrl+LeftBracket = playback line to start Ctrl+RightBracket = Playback to end. LeftBracket = rewind RightBracket = fast forward. Detailed description Space starts or stops the score playing. The playback line moves across the score as it is playing and stops when you press Space a second time. If you press Space again, the score will begin playing from the point at which it was last stopped. Sibelius remembers where playback was last started from and when you press Ctrl+Space the score rewinds to that place and playback starts from there. Repeatedly pressing Ctrl+Space will effectively "loop" the playback. P moves the playback line to the selection and starts playback. Y moves the playback line to the selection but doesn't start playback. You'll have to press Space to hear the music. Ctrl+Y selects the note which is closest to the playback line. This lets you navigate the score from a point which is close to where playback stopped. Shift+Y moves the view to the playback line. This option is of very little use to VI users because it only affects what is shown on screen, it does not select any items in the score. Pressing Ctrl+LeftBracket will move the playback line to the start of the score. If the score is already playing then you will hear it play from the start immediately. If the score is not playing, the playback line will be moved to the start and the score will play from there the next time Spacebar is pressed. To listen to the end of the score you should stop playback and then press Ctrl+RightBracket. The playback line will now be at the end of the score. Hold down the Left Bracket key for a few seconds to move the playback line backwards a few bars. Now press Space and the last few bars should be played.
